Don't Shrink Back
As Christians, we must never shrink back. This is very important! Consider this scripture:
But we are not of those who shrink back and are destroyed, but of those who have faith and preserve their souls. ~Hebrews 10:39
We must hold strong to our faith. We must use our voice!
The Word of God states in Proverbs 24:10, "If you faint in the day of adversity, your strength is small."
I would like to pose this question: Why are we fighting so hard for a life that we cannot keep? That is not the goal.
The goal is to lay down our lives, rather than just trying to survive.
Then Jesus told his disciples, “If anyone would come after me, let him deny himself and take up his cross and follow me. For whoever would save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for my sake will find it. For what will it profit a man if he gains the whole world and forfeits his soul? Or what shall a man give in return for his soul? ~Matthew 16:24-26
When we reach that point, the enemy can do nothing to us. Nothing at all.
I believe we must separate ourselves from worldly views. We must die to ourselves, if we desire to remain pleasing to Him and walk in the victory He has given us.
The enemy of our soul wants to take us down to his level of thinking by paralyzing us with fear and distracting us from the purpose God has for us.
We have a responsibility, though, according to Hebrews 12:1.
Therefore, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us also lay aside every weight, and sin which clings so closely, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us...
Let us focus on these things:
1. Doing our part to be about God's business.
2. Preparing and strengthening ourselves through time with God and time with those who value Him.
3. Intentionally loving others and promoting unity.
If we seek to do these things, which are for His kingdom, He will take care of our personal affairs. (According to Matthew 6:33, But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.)
If we get our eyes on anything else, but God's plan, it will deplete every bit of the strength that we have.
It is something to think about.
