The Road to Wisdom
The Road to Wisdom
How many of us have ever prayed for wisdom?
I would fall among the ones of us who have. It is such a spiritual prayer and it sounds so nice. You don't have any idea, in advance, that you can't walk down the easy road to get it. Wisdom comes in pieces and you have to walk down the road of experience to get it.
You may walk a bit along the way and meet up with someone unpleasant. You just have to glean what you can from the situation and just move on.
Then, you come to a rocky place, and you work through it, pick up another piece and continue on.
After a while, you may meet up with a tragedy. You work through the pain, as best you can, find something good from the circumstance, and go on.
Then, you come to a rocky place, and you work through it, pick up another piece and continue on.
After a while, you may meet up with a tragedy. You work through the pain, as best you can, find something good from the circumstance, and go on.
Suddenly, you get stuck in a place where you feel trapped. You are so weary by this point, that you look behind you and consider going back, but you have no choice. There is simply nothing worth going back to.
When you put things into perspective, you realize that you are not the same person that you were at the beginning. Somewhere along the path, you changed. You have gained....wisdom. When you began the journey, things were easier, but unfruitful and unsatisfying. Now you have something invested in the journey. You have to move forward.
So you fight your way through, gain another piece of wisdom, and keep moving, realizing that God has been with you all along.

Psalm 51:6
Behold, Thou dost desire truth in the innermost being, And in the hidden part Thou wilt make me know wisdom.
Behold, Thou dost desire truth in the innermost being, And in the hidden part Thou wilt make me know wisdom.
James 1:5
But if any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all men generously and without reproach, and it will be given to him.
But if any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all men generously and without reproach, and it will be given to him.
Wisdom is sweet to your soul; if you find it, there is a future hope for you, and your hope will not be cut off.
