The Road to Wisdom

The Road to Wisdom      How many of us have ever prayed for wisdom?       I would fall among the ones of us who have. It is such a spiritual prayer and it sounds so nice.  You don't have any idea, in advance, that you can't walk down the easy road to get it. Wisdom  comes in pieces and you have to walk down the road of experience to get it.      You may walk a bit along the way and meet up with someone unpleasant. You just have to glean what you can from the situation and just move on.       Then, you come to a rocky place, and you work through it, pick up another piece and continue on.       After a while, you may meet up with a tragedy. You work through the pain, as best you can, find something good from the circumstance, and go on.       Suddenly, you get stuck in a place where you feel trapped. You are so weary by this point, that...

Things That Are Not Seen

Your faithfulness extends to every generation, as enduring as the earth you created.(Psalm 119:90) If we sit and think about all of the blessings of God, we have to acknowledge His faithfulness in every situation of life! It is the INTANGIBLE things that God truly blesses us with. These are things that can never be taken away from us; like treasures in heaven. In this way they will lay up treasure for themselves as a firm foundation for the coming age, so that they may take hold of the life that is truly life. (I Timothy 6:19) God shows up with many intangible gifts when we need them. Mercy for example; and grace. The LORD is good to all, and his mercy is over all that he has made. (Psalm 145:9) From his abundance we have all received one gracious blessing after another. ( John 1:16) God's faithfulness CANNOT be compared to man's reliability. I think that is why so many times we can't seem to believe Him for His blessings. We are too busy looking at all the p...

You Will Reap What You Sow

Galatians 6:6-10 states,   The one who is taught the word is to share all good things with the one who teaches him. Do not be deceived, God is not mocked; for whatever a man sows, this he will also reap. For the one who sows to his own flesh will from the flesh reap corruption, but the one who sows to the Spirit will from the Spirit reap eternal life. Let us not lose heart in doing good, for in due time we will reap if we do not grow weary. So then, while we have opportunity, let us do good to all people, and especially to those who are of the household of the faith. Many times this scripture is used in a negative light. When we are angry we say, "you are going to reap what you sow". Why do we do this? This is arrogance at it's finest, and we have all been guilty at times. Of course they are all going to reap what they sow; but it is not our place to lash out at people with this verses intending to punish! God is the only judge!  These verses addressed a pa...

Pour Out Your Love On Him

Pour o ut y our l ove on H im! Psalm 63:3   Because your steadfast love is better than life, my lips will praise you. What love on earth could be greater than God's love? What love could be more steadfast or faithful? When we have dreams in our heart that we think we will never see come to pass, it is easy to lose heart. (Especially when we look around and see others who seem to be blessed on every side). When we want to pour out the innermost dreams of our heart to others, they don't always understand. Sometimes, they think that we are utterly ridiculous, or they do not seem to care. It is comforting to know that God does care! He longs for us to speak to Him and pour out the best of who we are to Him.  Not only does God listen, but He gives us dreams and desires!  Psalm 37:4: Take delight in the Lord , and he will give you the desires of your  heart. God satisfies!  He does not leave us empty, if we take time with Hi...

God's Eye is on You

"God's Eye is on You"   In the world, like it is today, it is hard to imagine that God is really paying attention to what is happening to you. It would seem that the enemy is always getting the upper-hand. In fact, your enemy does have his eye on you. That is true! However, God's eyes NEVER leave you!!!!  The eyes of the LORD search the whole earth in order to strengthen those whose hearts are fully committed to him. (2 Corinthians 16:9a) But the LORD watches over those who fear him, those who rely on his unfailing love. (Psalm 33:18) The eyes of the Lord watch over those who do right, and his ears are open to their prayers. But the Lord turns his face against those who do evil." (1 Peter 3:12) The LORD is watching everywhere, keeping his eye on both the evil and the good. (Proverbs 15:3) Jesus LOVES you and is always praying on your behalf. Understanding, in advance, that His disciple, Simon Peter, would deny knowing Him, He spoke ...
